Cat Wet Groom - Short haired ONLY
Service Description
Cat Grooming Information Cat grooming is very different from dog grooming, and I always work with your cat’s comfort and safety in mind. All cats are groomed freely (no restraints). If your cat is long-haired or requires clipper work, you will be asked to stay during the appointment to help with handling. As I work solo, I can’t always hold and clip at the same time, and most cats are far more comfortable with their owners nearby. Please note: not all groomers ask owners to stay, but this is my policy. Important Notes 🐾 Owner presence required – You must stay throughout the groom. 🐾 Aggressive cats – If your cat cannot be groomed due to aggression, the full fee still applies. 🐾 Matting or knots – If your cat arrives matted or knotted, these areas will always be prioritised first, as matting is very uncomfortable and only gets worse over time. 🐾 Force-free grooming – I never force a cat. If a step isn’t tolerated, it will be skipped. 🐾 Treats – I offer treats for positive reinforcement. If your cat has allergies or you’d prefer to bring your own (e.g. tuna), please let me know. 🐾 Clothing – A disposable apron is provided for long-haired cats, but please wear older clothes. What’s Included in a Standard Dry Groom Most cats receive a dry groom, which may include: Nail clipping (optional) Brush out and comb through Clipper tidy for long-haired cats (pads, paws, hygiene, belly, back legs, bum, chin if needed) Dry shampoo Gentle drying Cat perfume (optional) Not all cats will tolerate every step, and that’s okay – I keep grooming stress-free and kind. About Dry Shampoo I use gentle cat-safe dry shampoo. It won’t cleanse as deeply as a wet bath, but it’s kind on the skin and safe to leave in. Outdoor cats or those with grease or dandruff may need more than one session, or occasionally a wet bath, to improve their coat. This is common in older cats and those struggling to groom themselves. My Grooming Approach I am not a show-cat groomer. My goal is comfort and coat maintenance. Clipping is often for easier upkeep and mat prevention, not looks. Because cats aren’t bathed like dogs, coats may not look perfectly fluffy straight away. Clipper work can sometimes appear choppy, and fur takes 5–7 days to soften and settle. If you’re looking for comfort-focused, stress-free grooming, you’re in the right place. But if you’re looking for show-cat grooming or utter perfection, I am not the groomer for you.
